Twitter 2 for Mac feels more like a dashboard widget

Twitter 2 for Mac feels more like a dashboard widget

After many months of no updates, Tweetie, now known as Twitter 2, makes it to the new Mac App Store as Twitter’s official Mac client. It looks and feels exactly like its iPad counterpart which is good if you’re a causal user. However, those of us that use Twitter a little more fervor are going to feel claustrophobic using this app compared to apps that allow you to see columns of lists such as Seesmic Desktop and Tweetdeck.

Twitter breaks old clients with OAuth update

Twitter breaks old clients with OAuth update

Did your Twitter client all of a sudden break in the last day? It’s because Twitter changed their authentication from Basic Authentication to OAuth. How to avoid DM fails

Here’s something many of us have done: Twitter DMs come to our phone via text messages and we reply to them, thinking they’re going to be sent back as DMs, but instead they’re sent as public tweets. You’ve probably seen them yourself, disjointed tweets like “see you then”, or “Bob’s a <blankety-blank>”. I wrote a few myself, which were thankfully not embarrassing at all. Once the tweet goes out at the speed of fail to the internet, you now have to find the fastest way to delete that tweet. I decided to write up a few tips for avoiding that mistake the next time you want to talk about Spandex.
