Author Archive for Geekistry

Geekistry.com was launched in early 2010 by co-founders Michael Gaines and Krissi Bates-Billings. "Geekistry" is what geeks do, but geekistry isn't exclusively about things traditionally thought of as geeky, like technology and gadgets, but about being passionate about what we do and how we embrace 'geek culture'.

Geekistry Giveaway

Geekistry Giveaway

The holiday season is in full-swing and Michael and I have planned a little Geekistry Giveaway for you. The inspiration for this giveaway comes from Blizzard’s commitment to donate 50% of all sales of each Moonkin Hatchling from now until December 31st to the Make a Wish Foundation (that’s $5 from each $10 pet!) The newly released non-combat pet has two variations, one for each faction and once activated, the code applies to all present and future characters on a single World of Warcraft license. Geekistry is giving away two pets to two lucky fans!

Geekistry is what geeks do and South by Southwest Interactive is a conference where geeks go to meet, mingle, and learn from other geeks. We want you to help send us to SXSWi 2011 – not as attendees, but as presenters. Here’s more about our presentation and how to vote for us.

One of the things we like about Geekistry is the interaction we have with fellow geeks during the live recording of the podcast. The commentary from the chat room is a virtual way for us to ‘geek-out’ with you and include you in our conversation. We’ve had so much fun chatting during the live recordings of the podcast that we want to expand the interaction: we now have our very own IRC chat channel on GeekShed.net! We’re extending the invitation to you to come hang with us and each other. #Geekistry – where geeks chat.

Geekistry Contest Winner – @Kriseb_Krunkle FTW!

We wanted to do something fun to help promote our name change from delOmni to Geekistry and get all our friends and fans involved with our geeky-ness. We held a contest to win $25 iTunes card (autographed by Mike and Krissi,) a $10 Starbucks card, and a 1-year subscription to WIRED magazine. The entries were in the forms of Tweets, and posts on GoogleBuzz  and Facebook that included a link-back to this site. The responses about how individuals consider themselves “unique geeks” were so much fun! You can see a copy of the Tweets (below) and say congrats to our winner…
